A New View, a New You: Unlocking Limiting Beliefs and Developing New Patterns

Work-related stress is an ongoing issue that impacts the effectiveness of the job performance of professionals in a variety of fields. This is especially true for teachers and the current demands of various outside factors. Research shows a direct correlation between teachers who feel stressed and a reduction in their desire to be effective instructional classroom leaders. While the ongoing demands of teachers are most likely not to change, a teacher's ability to handle stressful situations may. This session focuses on implementing strategies that may lead to a new and better you, both in and out of the classroom.

Participants will identify limiting beliefs or other inner roadblocks that hold us back from being the best version of ourselves. From there, participants will identify new partners of change to implement within their daily or weekly schedule to overcome their limiting beliefs and unlock a new version of themselves. Lastly, participants will outline goals they want to achieve in the next day, week, month, term, semester, and year and identify potential accountability partners to reinforce these new patterns while also celebrating goal achievements.

This session will focus on increasing wonder, curiosity, and questioning in the classroom with specific strategies to keep kids of all ages engaged throughout an entire lesson - from bell to bell.
Our goal will be to help you think through what you already implement to promote deep thinking in the classroom, how to enhance what you are already doing, and give you resources you can use right away!

In this session, we will review Dr. Daniel Siegel's Whole Brain Child strategies, tips from his No Drama Discipline book, and how it aligns well with CKH and SEL. Discipline means "to teach" and the strategies discussed in this session will help with having a positive approach to students in your classroom, but also when students are dysregulated and need help moving forward.
